Blackball Fighter was formed in 2005 when brothers Steve & Simey moved out of the city and into a converted farmhouse buried deep in the countryside of County Down. They immediately started writing hard hitting no-nonsense rock tunes that felt good to play live.
From here the infamy of a party house atmosphere ensured that an army of fans and a buzz surrounded every loud, nail biting live gig. The band's first single 'Fever' was spawned, and instantly became a hit on independent radio including a four week run at the top of London's Revolution Radio listener charts.
After two and a half years of gigging and touring in Ireland Blackball Fighter have picked up a loyal following of fans who have put 2 Blackball singles into the indie Irish chart, including a single which debuted at number 10 during the 2007 Indie Summer Festival.
Blackball Fighter's sound is a cool blend of brutal riffage, pounding rhythm and bass lines, with euphoric vocal melodies adding polish and atmosphere.
It is Blackball Fighter's memorable and ear bleeding live performance where the band truly shine.
