This weeks No. 1 - Chances Float by El Capitan
Fermanagh’s finest export, El Capitan, have landed the support slot for massive UK act The Feeling when they come to Belfast later this year.
El Capitan can be seen playing with the Feeling in Belfast’s Mandela Hallon Tuesday 2nd December. The Fermanagh foursome are relishing the chance to play on a big stage and have a few treats in store for all their fans because they will be playing some new material which they have been saving for a special show such as this.
Upon hearing the news guitarist Sean McGoldrick said, “It’s a really nice touch for the feeling to give us asupport slot and we appreciate it hugely”. Bassist Ronan McGrade adds, “We’re very grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with one of the biggest bandsin the UK today… but watch this space because this time next year it will be El Capitan looking for support bands!”
El Capitan’s confidence is understandable when music luminaries such as producer Chris Sheldon have expressed an interest in working with the band. Chris commented, “Anyone can make a din,but to make a great din takes something special which is what these guys are”.
This is turning out to be a very exciting time for El Capitan. So far this year they have reached the final of nationally televised battle of the bands show Deis Roc, received extensive radio play, toured Ireland and recorded new material.
El Capitan’s musical ship is definitely sailing in the right direction!
