Syren ..Sy"ren.., n. [L., fr. Gr. ???: cf. F. sir[..e]ne.] 1. (Class. Myth.) One of three sea nymphs, -- or, according to some writers, of two, -- said to frequent an island near the coast of Italy, and to sing with such sweetness that they lured mariners to destruction.
Syren was born in 1977, in Caerphilly, South Wales. The only musical member of her family, she started her artistic career with piano and ballet at the tender age of 3. Studying with the Royal School of Music London, she completed her classical piano exams by the time she was 14. Syren has also trained for 2 years in Classical Opera.
Singing and writing her own material from her mid teens, Syren has performed in the UK, US and Europe. Currently she is based in Turkey, where she is working with her band Amberville. She is also writing songs for other artists.
