Over the past 2 years The 66 have been touring throughout the UK and have played over 100 shows and festivals. Their incendiary live performances have firmly cemented their reputation. as one of the best live bands around.
They have worked with a number of top names, supporting artists such as Starsailor, Tim Burgess, Airborne Toxic Event, The Chameleons, Dirty Sanchez, Sunshine Underground, often being at the artist’s request.
2010 will see the 66 working in conjunction with LGM records and their own label ‘Rum as Sin’ on a number of releases and special projects with established and up-and-coming artists, exciting times.
As a warm up and treat for the fans, we’ll be releasing our ’Vibe EP’ Worldwide in April. The EP has only been handed around at gigs previously and picked up some amazing press.
PRESS / REVIEWS
"As the 66 gather momentum it definitely won’t be long before something big happens – in fact I already think it is… Whilst the roots of the City’s last big scene date back almost two decades The 66 are the sound of today’s next generation.”
- Jon (Editor), Manchester Music
“Their name has been ingrained in my sub-conscience for several weeks now, to the extent that I am slightly nervous before seeing them, for fear of disappointment. I shouldn’t have worried. This band is truly epic “

“Just occasionally, a band walks onstage and for half an hour, shakes a small corner of the world from its axis. Tonight is one of those very special nights “
- Mike Nuttall, allgigs.co.uk (May 09, 2008)
“Think of Primal Scream when they really rock out with the loose-limbed post-baggy acid blues, and then imagine if they were still in their teens, or not far off. And fuck, can these lads play. Not only in terms of ability and togetherness, but they’ve got the performance bit nailed down too.”
- Cath Aubergine, Manchester Music (Jun 20, 2008)
“The 66 channel their garage punk wares into some highly attractive pop terrain- and they know the worth of being jammed between 65 and 67 too….so, yeah, you could mention The Creation or The Seeds but we settle on a blistering blend of The Vines and New York Dolls. “
- Bugbear, Bugbear Bookings (Aug 26, 2009)
