Practically all hailing from Limerick, Ireland (save a Galwegian and Aussie that snuck in) The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra's music is a blend of warm vocal harmonies, classy instrumentation. The BPLO's ear-catching melodies are desperately hard to categorise yet strangely easy to love.
The BPLO caught the attention of both Paul McLoone and Alison Curtis in Today FM with their joyful winter single 'December’. They went on to record two sessions for the McLoone show and, when she was interviewed by The Irish Times, Alison Curtis tipped them as a band to watch in 2009. Their track 'Grace Jones' was selected for Limerick music compilation 'Tone List' complied by Noel Hogan of The Cranberries and Alan Jacques of Hot Press and 95FM's Green and Live.
Arresting musicality coupled with a dark, wry wit, The (very well dressed) Brad Pitt Light Orchestra produce an unmissable vibrant, life-affirming, live experience.
The live performances of The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra never fail to enthrall. Alan O'Riordan of the Irish Examiner who attended Flatlake remarked "Best of the fest, though, was Saturday's late-night performance from The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra. They had us waltzing in the big top."
"All dressed up for the prom, BPLO’s music is a festival of contrast and melodrama...the stark vocal contrast provided by the three Limerick siblings up front quickly lodges in the skull. It’s all the drama of ‘Phantom of the Opera’ with added indie cool." -James Hendicott, State Magazine
